How to Restore leather chesterfield sofas

To restore chesterfield or chesterfield type leather ( known as rub off leather ) our Buffalo chesterfield leather colour restoration kit will be required. This kit provides all the correct products & procedures for long term durability and a very professional result. The procedures are very simple and no professional skills are required. If the leather has deep severe cracking you can fill these out by using the white leather filler paste between steps 3 & 4, once dry the leather filler can be sanded using finest grade wet & dry sandpaper.
Chesterfield leather has 2 colours on the surface - a lighter base colour and a translucent black antique top colour, when new the black colour is rubbed away professionally to provide a subtle ageing effect to the surface. Overtime the black top colour will rub away completely; the result is a very tired, jaded chesterfield. Our kit and procedures can revive the lighter base colour and top colour so your chesterfield looks like new again.

1. Once the chair has been thoroughly cleaned, it is now ready for the lighter ( green ) base colour which will re-colour the worn areas.

2.Initially feed the colour evenly using the sponge into the worn or cracked areas, 1-2 applications may be required. Then use the airbrush provided to spray on a more professional even colour tone. When dry apply the aerosol gloss sealant.

3.Repeat the airbrush spray action using the darker top colour provided. When dry apply the aerosol gloss sealant.

4. The area is now fully restored. It is advisable to leave the area to cure fully for 12-24 hrs
