HOW TO REMOVE SCRATCHES FROM ANILINE LEATHER
Scratches on aniline leather are very common, it's the nature of the leather and can't be avoided.
How to assess if your sofa is an aniline leather
- The leather is very absobent and liquids soak immediately in to the leather
- If you run your fingernail lightly over the surface it will leave a light scracth in the surface
This type of leather is very natural and treated with dyes and oils or waxes, when anything drags over the surface, even lightly, it moves the dye away from the surface leaving a ligter mark which most people would interpretate as a scratch.
Remember not to panic as these scratches aren't damage they're only pressure marks
How can the scratches be removed?
- Clean the surface using using our gentle leather cleaner, this will open the pores of the leather enabling better penetration of leather creams.
- Apply our Luxury intensive leather cream, this nourishes the leather and re-moisturises the the dye in the leather bringing it back to the surface helping to blend out the light pressure marks.
