• The leather is very absobent and liquids soak immediately in to the leather

• If you run your fingernail lightly over the surface it will leave a light scracth in the surface

Why does it scratch so easily?
This type of leather is very natural and treated with dyes and oils or waxes, when anything drags over the surface, even lightly, it moves the dye away from the surface leaving a ligter mark which most people would interpretate as a scratch.
